Rational Use of Underground Space
the Project
Politecnico di
Torino plans to support a pilot example of the Underground
Laboratory, which will aim to be a place where it will be able to
compare experiences and project activities (in progress or already
completed at different institutional levels) related to the rational
management of the underground space. The mail goal of the project is
to build, in Piemonte, a relationship among various actors having
different skills, experiences, and organizational cultures, in order
to facilitate the integration and the dissemination of contents and
good methodologies, through an informative network which will allow
a continuous updating of knowledge and solutions.
The Underground Project involves the participation of two
laboratories (LAME and LARTU) of the Politecnico di Torino, of two
public institutions (Regione Lombardia and Regione Piemonte), and of
a private operator (EGEA group).
The first initiatives have been meetings with the Ufficio Sottosuolo
of Regione Lombardia and analyses on Lombard regulations on
underground planning.
Furthermore, the
Underground Laboratory Project and the PUGGS (Urban Plans for the
Management of Underground Services) of Regione Lombardia have been
presented to Regione Piemonte.
A local energy operator declared itself interested in testing the
project in the area of Alba and in cooperating with LAME and LARTU
laboratories for the management of a web portal on Underground
Space, to be activated at the Politecnico di Torino.
